Agios Georgios Pagon Beach

Corfu's official tourism organisation describes Agios Georgios Pagon as a beautiful sandy beach of around two kilometres, suitable for families and couples.

The long beachfront has places to eat, small-scale accommodation and seasonal watersports. Boats and sea bicycles are available in the resort area, and boat access towards Porto Timoni is one of the best-known activities from the bay.

The bay is open to the west and can become choppier when the north-westerly wind picks up, so conditions should always be checked before swimming.

What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly sand. The sandy sections are comfortable for anyone planning to spend several hours on the beach. The generous stretch of shoreline gives you more room to spread out than at Corfu's smaller coves and makes it a good option if you enjoy beach walks as well as swimming.

Swimming and sea conditions

Wind can pick up because of the beach's exposure, so the character of the sea can change noticeably from one day to the next. It is generally a family-friendly option, with normal supervision around the water.

This beach is particularly well suited to families, couples, swimming, watersports, boat trips and scenic views. If you can stay into the evening, it is also a good setting for watching the sunset.

There are organised sections in season, making it easier to settle in for a full beach day. Sunbed provision varies along the long beach and should be checked locally. Restaurants and cafés are spread along the bay and resort. Seasonal watersports, pedalos/sea bicycles and boat activities operate from the bay.

Parking is available around parts of the beachfront and resort; availability varies by section and season. Road access reaches the resort and long beachfront. Different sections of the bay have separate access points. Specific assisted sea-entry equipment has not been verified for 2026.

Planning your visit

For a full beach day, late morning through the afternoon gives you the best chance of finding seasonal services operating, although this is also when organised beaches are busiest. Parking is generally easier before the main lunchtime rush. If sunset is one of the reasons you are visiting, plan to stay beyond the main beach-going hours rather than leaving in mid-afternoon.
