Getting There

Agios Stefanos North East is located approximately 35 km from Corfu Town, with the drive generally taking around an hour depending on traffic and road conditions.

The journey follows the island's north-east coast before heading through the countryside and descending towards the harbour. The final approach gives some beautiful glimpses across the Corfu Channel.

Driving is one of the easiest ways to visit, although parking can be limited, particularly during July and August. There is a small parking area near the entrance to the village, but spaces can fill quickly during busy periods.

Public transport is more limited than it is to some of Corfu's larger resorts. The A4 Green Bus service serves the wider north-east area, but services should be checked carefully before travelling as frequencies and seasonal timetables can vary.

Once you reach the harbour, the main waterfront is relatively flat and compact, although the surrounding village and many of the villas are positioned on steep hillsides.

Families can certainly enjoy the beach and calm surroundings, but those specifically looking for large areas of soft sand and very shallow water for young children may find places such as Agios Stefanos Avliotes or other sandy beaches more suitable.

It is also an excellent choice for anyone who loves Corfu's north-east coast and wants somewhere that combines beautiful scenery, boating and waterfront dining.

If your priority is nightlife, large beach bars or a huge choice of shops, Agios Stefanos probably isn't the right destination. Its appeal is precisely the opposite: a small harbour, clear water, good food and a slower pace of life.

The harbour and waterfront are a huge part of what makes this little village special. Arrive in the morning, enjoy a swim and then give yourself time for a relaxed lunch beside the water while watching the boats arrive and depart.
