What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly a mixture of pebble and rock. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. It is a compact beach, which gives it an intimate feel but means space can become limited at the busiest times of day.

Swimming and sea conditions

Conditions are often calm, particularly during settled summer weather. Snorkelling is another reason to consider it, especially around rocky edges or clearer sections away from the busiest swimmers. It is generally a family-friendly option, with normal supervision around the water.

This beach is particularly well suited to swimming, corfu town and local beaches.

Facilities

This is essentially an unorganised beach, so it suits visitors who are happy with a simpler, more natural setup. Do not rely on finding sunbed hire, so bringing your own towel, shade or beach umbrella can be worthwhile. The Garitsa promenade has cafés, bars and restaurants within a short walk.

Getting there and practical information

Limited free street parking is available along Garitsa Bay and fills quickly. Easy access from the Anemomylos/Garitsa promenade. Flat promenade access, although entry to the sea is via steps/platforms rather than a conventional sandy shore. Corfu City Bus services run along Garitsa Bay close to Anemomylos.

Planning your visit

If you are visiting in July or August, arriving earlier in the day usually gives you more choice of space at a compact beach like this. Parking is generally easier before the main lunchtime rush.

Is it the right beach for you?

Choose it if clear-water swimming and time in the sea are more important than a large resort-style setup.
