Approx. 250m long and around 20m wide

A sandy north-coast beach near Astrakeri with shallow water and a quieter, more local feel than the larger resorts.

Astrakeri Beach has a sand shoreline. Road access reaches the coastal area at Astrakeri.

What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly sand. The sandy sections are comfortable for anyone planning to spend several hours on the beach. It offers a useful middle ground: enough space for a proper beach day without feeling as sprawling as Corfu's largest resort beaches.

Swimming and sea conditions

Entry to the sea is gradual and relatively shallow near the shoreline. Conditions are often calm, particularly during settled summer weather.

Who this beach suits

This beach is particularly well suited to families, swimming and a quieter beach day. Its quieter character is part of the appeal, particularly if you want to get away from the island's busier resort beaches.

Facilities

This is essentially an unorganised beach, so it suits visitors who are happy with a simpler, more natural setup. A small number of seasonal sunbeds may be provided by waterfront tavernas; most of the beach remains informal. Fish tavernas are located at the waterfront and near the small harbour.

Getting there and practical information

Informal free parking is available along the road and near the harbour. Road access reaches the coastal area at Astrakeri. The beach area is flat and directly accessible from the road. There is no direct bus to Astrakeri Beach; the nearest regular services are on the main north-coast road, requiring a walk or taxi.

Planning your visit

Early morning or later afternoon is a particularly good time to enjoy the quieter atmosphere and softer light.

Is it the right beach for you?

Choose it if peace, scenery and a more natural shoreline matter more to you than organised facilities.
