Faliraki Beach
A historic urban swimming spot below Corfu Town's old fortifications, combining sea access with views across the Old Fortress and bay.

Small urban beach / bathing platform
A historic urban swimming spot below Corfu Town's old fortifications, combining sea access with views across the Old Fortress and bay.
Faliraki Beach has a rock shoreline. Reached on foot from central Corfu Town via the Faliraki waterfront.
Food or drink is available at the beach or immediately nearby.
What to expect
The shoreline is predominantly rock. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. This is best thought of as a convenient swimming spot rather than a conventional resort beach with a long shoreline.
Swimming and sea conditions
The water becomes deep comparatively quickly, which confident swimmers often appreciate but families with very young children should keep in mind. The bay is relatively sheltered, which can help keep conditions more settled than on exposed stretches of coast. It can still work well for families, but younger children and less confident swimmers will need closer supervision because of the quicker increase in depth.
Who this beach suits
This beach is particularly well suited to swimming, corfu town and scenic views.
Facilities
This is essentially an unorganised beach, so it suits visitors who are happy with a simpler, more natural setup. Do not rely on finding sunbed hire, so bringing your own towel, shade or beach umbrella can be worthwhile. Cafés, bars and tavernas are located immediately beside the waterfront swimming area. Useful beach amenities include toilets, showers and changing facilities.
Getting there and practical information
Reached on foot from central Corfu Town via the Faliraki waterfront. Access includes urban paths and steps/platforms rather than a conventional sandy beach. Central Corfu Town bus stops are within walking distance; Faliraki is best reached on foot from the Old Town.
Is it the right beach for you?
It is worth shortlisting if its combination of setting, access and swimming conditions matches the type of beach day you are looking for.
