Small pebble beach

A small pebble beach between Nissaki and Barbati, with clear water and a quieter feel than the larger neighbouring resorts.

Glyfa Beach has a pebble shoreline. Local coastal road and foot access.

What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly pebble. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. It is a compact beach, which gives it an intimate feel but means space can become limited at the busiest times of day.

Swimming and sea conditions

The water becomes deep comparatively quickly, which confident swimmers often appreciate but families with very young children should keep in mind. Water clarity is one of the attractions here, especially on calm days. Snorkelling is another reason to consider it, especially around rocky edges or clearer sections away from the busiest swimmers.

Who this beach suits

This beach is particularly well suited to swimming, a quieter beach day and snorkelling. Its quieter character is part of the appeal, particularly if you want to get away from the island's busier resort beaches.

Planning your visit

If you are visiting in July or August, arriving earlier in the day usually gives you more choice of space at a compact beach like this.

Is it the right beach for you?

Choose it if clear-water swimming and time in the sea are more important than a large resort-style setup.
