Loggas Beach

The beach is very narrow and the available strip of sand can shrink substantially when the sea is rough or the water level is high. The dramatic cliffs and west-facing position make the area especially popular for photography and sunset.

Access to the beach is by steep steps/path from the cliff top. Recent guidance describes the beach itself as unorganised, with no sunbeds, showers or changing facilities on the sand.

A café-bar operates on the cliff top and there is parking above the beach. The A8 bus reaches Peroulades village, but there is no direct bus stop at the beach itself. Visitors should also keep a sensible distance from unstable cliff faces and obey safety signs.

What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly a mixture of sand and rock. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. The sandy sections are comfortable for anyone planning to spend several hours on the beach. It is a compact beach, which gives it an intimate feel but means space can become limited at the busiest times of day.

Swimming and sea conditions

Entry to the sea is gradual and relatively shallow near the shoreline. Waves can develop when the weather changes, so it is worth judging the sea on the day rather than assuming it will always be flat. The open setting leaves the beach more exposed to changes in wind and sea conditions. It is less naturally suited to very young children than Corfu's broad, shallow sandy beaches.

Who this beach suits

This beach is particularly well suited to sunsets, photography, scenic views and couples. Its quieter character is part of the appeal, particularly if you want to get away from the island's busier resort beaches. If you can stay into the evening, it is also a good setting for watching the sunset.

Facilities

This is essentially an unorganised beach, so it suits visitors who are happy with a simpler, more natural setup. Do not rely on finding sunbed hire, so bringing your own towel, shade or beach umbrella can be worthwhile. Food and drink are available at the cliff-top venue above the beach rather than directly on the sand. Facilities are limited, so do not assume that toilets, showers and changing facilities will be available.

Getting there and practical information

Parking is available near the cliff top, but it can become busy around sunset. The beach is reached by a steep descent from the cliff-top area. The shoreline is narrow and can be reduced or covered when sea conditions are rough. Not suitable for visitors with significant mobility limitations because of the steep access and natural cliff-backed shoreline. The A8 Green Bus reaches Peroulades village; there is no direct public transport to the beach.

Planning your visit

If you are visiting in July or August, arriving earlier in the day usually gives you more choice of space at a compact beach like this. Parking is generally easier before the main lunchtime rush. If sunset is one of the reasons you are visiting, plan to stay beyond the main beach-going hours rather than leaving in mid-afternoon.

Is it the right beach for you?

Choose it if peace, scenery and a more natural shoreline matter more to you than organised facilities. Check the sea conditions when you arrive, particularly on windier days.
