A small, leafy swimming area beside the Mon Repos estate, offering a quieter town-edge alternative to resort beaches.

What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly a mixture of pebble and rock. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. It is a compact beach, which gives it an intimate feel but means space can become limited at the busiest times of day.

Swimming and sea conditions

The bay is relatively sheltered, which can help keep conditions more settled than on exposed stretches of coast. It is generally a family-friendly option, with normal supervision around the water.

Who this beach suits

This beach is particularly well suited to swimming, corfu town and nature lovers. Its quieter character is part of the appeal, particularly if you want to get away from the island's busier resort beaches.

Facilities

There are organised sections in season, making it easier to settle in for a full beach day. The managed bathing area has seasonal sunbeds and parasols. A café/restaurant operates at the managed bathing area and more options are available around Garitsa. The emphasis is more on swimming and relaxing than on a large watersports programme. Useful beach amenities include toilets and showers.

Getting there and practical information

Parking is mainly on surrounding streets rather than in a dedicated beach car park. Reached through the Mon Repos/Palaiopolis area by foot. Easy urban access from the Garitsa/Kanoni side; surfaces and exact access vary between the managed beach and nearby swimming points. Corfu City Bus route 2A stops near Mon Repos/Kanoni; the area is also walkable from Garitsa.

Planning your visit

If you are visiting in July or August, arriving earlier in the day usually gives you more choice of space at a compact beach like this. Parking is generally easier before the main lunchtime rush.

Is it the right beach for you?

Choose it if you want an easy, low-effort beach day with enough nearby facilities to stay comfortably for several hours.
