What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly pebble. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. It is a compact beach, which gives it an intimate feel but means space can become limited at the busiest times of day.

Swimming and sea conditions

The water becomes deep comparatively quickly, which confident swimmers often appreciate but families with very young children should keep in mind. Water clarity is one of the attractions here, especially on calm days. Snorkelling is another reason to consider it, especially around rocky edges or clearer sections away from the busiest swimmers. It can still work well for families, but younger children and less confident swimmers will need closer supervision because of the quicker increase in depth.

Getting there and practical information

Parking very close to the beach is minimal; arriving early is advisable. Easy road and foot access from the Nissaki coastal area. The final road down is steep and narrow, although the beach itself is fairly level. Green Bus route A4 stops on the main road above Nissaki; the walk down to the beach is long and steep.

Planning your visit

If you are visiting in July or August, arriving earlier in the day usually gives you more choice of space at a compact beach like this. Parking is generally easier before the main lunchtime rush.
