Approx. 70m long and around 5m wide

One of Paleokastritsa's smaller named coves, offering clear water and a compact shoreline beneath the resort's green hills.

Platakia Beach has a pebble, sand shoreline. Local foot access from the Paleokastritsa resort area.

What to expect

The shoreline is predominantly a mixture of pebble and sand. Beach shoes can be useful, particularly when entering and leaving the water. The sandy sections are comfortable for anyone planning to spend several hours on the beach. It is a compact beach, which gives it an intimate feel but means space can become limited at the busiest times of day.

Swimming and sea conditions

Water clarity is one of the attractions here, especially on calm days. The sea can feel noticeably cooler than at some of Corfu's more sheltered east-coast beaches. Snorkelling is another reason to consider it, especially around rocky edges or clearer sections away from the busiest swimmers. It is generally a family-friendly option, with normal supervision around the water.

Who this beach suits

This beach is particularly well suited to swimming, snorkelling and scenic views.

Facilities

A limited number of sunbeds and parasols are available in season. Restaurants are available immediately above or beside the beach, with more options around Paleokastritsa.

Getting there and practical information

Local foot access from the Paleokastritsa resort area. Paleokastritsa is served by Green Bus route A9 from Corfu Town; Platakia is reached on foot within the resort.

Planning your visit

If you are visiting in July or August, arriving earlier in the day usually gives you more choice of space at a compact beach like this.

Is it the right beach for you?

Choose it if clear-water swimming and time in the sea are more important than a large resort-style setup.
