Agios Georgios South
A Long Sandy Beach beside Lake Korission
About Agios Georgios South
On this page: At a glance · Beaches · Things to do · Food & drink · Where to stay
Agios Georgios South is a relaxed resort built around a long sandy beach on the island's south-west coast. It should not be confused with Agios Georgios Pagon in the north-west.
The resort is close to Issos Beach and the Lake Korission landscape, giving visitors access to both organised beach facilities and more natural coastal environments. It suits families, couples and travellers looking for a quieter beach base.
A southern beach resort with its own identity
Agios Georgios South is distinct from Agios Georgios Pagon in the north-west. Check the full destination name when booking accommodation or transport. The long sandy coast is the main holiday focus, with the wider Issos and Lake Korission landscape providing a contrasting excursion.
Choosing a position along the shore
Compare the property with the beach access and evening venues you will actually use rather than treating the entire coastal area as one compact centre. Green Bus B5 is the route to investigate for Agios Georgios Argyradon; a service named after a particular hotel does not establish coverage of every property. For nature time around Korission, select an access point and check current conditions. Leave the dunes and wetland environment undisturbed rather than creating shortcuts.

Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
