Corfu Old Town and Old Fortress in Central Corfu

Garitsa

A Seafront Neighbourhood beside Corfu Town

About Garitsa

On this page: At a glance   ·   Beaches   ·   Things to do   ·   Food & drink   ·   Where to stay

Garitsa stretches along the waterfront immediately south of Corfu Town and is known for its broad promenade, sea views and relaxed local atmosphere. It is close enough to walk into the Old Town while feeling distinctly residential.

The seafront is popular for walking and dining, and the route continues towards Anemomylos and Mon Repos.

A waterfront walk with cultural options

Garitsa offers a bay-side outing immediately south of the historic centre, with the seafront walk and views as a natural starting point. The Archaeological Museum adds a focused cultural visit nearby. Check current opening and admission details if you want to combine the museum with time around the bay.

A city-side base with a different rhythm

For accommodation, compare the exact route to the Old Town, dinner and your preferred waterfront spot. A bay view does not establish that swimming is available directly below the property. Anemomylos offers another distinct stop along the wider seafront area. If arriving by car, ask about unloading and parking instead of assuming a waterfront address includes a space. The best day here may be a few well-chosen stops with time between them.

Where to stay

Planning your
Kassiopi stay

Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.

What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.

Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.

Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.

What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
