Kontokali
A Convenient Coastal Base beside Gouvia
About Kontokali
On this page: At a glance · Beaches · Things to do · Food & drink · Where to stay
Kontokali lies between Gouvia and Corfu Town and combines a local village setting with beach areas, hotels and nearby marina facilities. It feels less like a single compact resort than neighbouring Gouvia.
Its biggest advantage is convenience: Corfu Town, the marina and routes towards both the north and south are readily accessible.
A coastal area with varied addresses
Kontokali offers accommodation and beach access near Gouvia and the marina area, but it is not one uniform beachfront strip. Municipal beach information describes a narrow shore, including a resort-associated section. Check the particular access and facilities you intend to use rather than assuming all hotel frontage is public guest space.
Choosing for your daily plans
Compare a property with the route to your preferred beach, the marina or the main transport corridor. Those destinations may be close on a map but involve different roads or crossings. If using City Bus 7, check the nearest suitable stop and final walk. For a marina-based trip, confirm the actual berth or operator meeting place. For a beach holiday, the complete shore route is more informative than the general description 'near Gouvia'.

Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
