Kritika is a small inland village in southern Corfu with a peaceful residential character, traditional village atmosphere and historical links to settlers from Crete.

Kritika is an inland village in the Lefkimmi area, with traditional lanes and the church of Agios Spyridon. Nearby coastal excursions should be planned separately from a stay in the village.

An inland stop in the far south

Kritika gives a different perspective on southern Corfu from the beach resorts, with traditional lanes and local residential life. Existing local guide evidence identifies the church of Agios Spyridon as a point of interest. Keep expectations village-sized: this is a place for a considered stop, not a substitute for a large resort centre.

Using the village as part of a wider route

Gardenos and Kavos provide contrasting coastal outings, and neither is a beach within Kritika itself. For a stay, ask about the closest food shopping, evening dining and the exact road to the accommodation. Those practical details determine whether an inland base suits your plans. A day visit can be paired with one southern beach; allow time to enjoy the village rather than simply passing through between larger destinations.

Getting around, beaches and evenings

The village is most convenient to explore by car as part of a wider south Corfu route.

No beach in the village. Gardenos offers a long sandy beach nearby, with Kavos and other south-coast options also within reach.

Very quiet in the village itself. Kavos is the nearest major destination for bars, clubs and late-night entertainment.

Where to stay

Planning your
Kassiopi stay

Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.

What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.

Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.

Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.

What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
