Loutses

A rugged inland village near Old Perithia

About Loutses

Loutses is a small traditional village in northern Corfu, well placed for exploring the foothills of Mount Pantokrator, Loutses Cave and the wider Old Perithia area.

Village scenery and a specialist cave outing

Loutses is a base for exploring the northern Pantokrator foothills, with Old Perithia and the north coast providing contrasting excursions. The nearby Megali Grava cave is a distinct activity: specialist cave information describes a steep descent and slippery conditions on the approach. It should not be presented as an effortless village stroll.

Choosing the right day out

Spend time in the village and select one further outing, whether that is a mountain-village visit or the coast. If the cave is your main interest, obtain current local guidance and make a separate plan for the approach and equipment. For public transport, check Green Bus A19 and the return journey. For a stay, establish how the property connects with food shopping and the roads you intend to use for daily excursions.

Getting around, beaches and evenings

Green Bus A19; check the timetable, exact stop and final walk to your accommodation.

No beach in the village. Kassiopi, Almyros and nearby north-coast coves provide the main swimming options.

Very quiet and rural. Kassiopi offers the nearest substantial choice of restaurants, bars and evening venues.

Where to stay

Planning your
Kassiopi stay

Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.

What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.

Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.

Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.

What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
