Pyrgi
A Coastal Area at the Northern End of Ipsos
About Pyrgi
On this page: At a glance · Beaches · Things to do · Food & drink · Where to stay
Pyrgi is closely connected with the northern end of Ipsos and sits on the transition towards the steeper north-east coast. Accommodation and local businesses line the coastal road and surrounding hillside.
It works as a practical base for visitors who want access to Ipsos while being slightly closer to Barbati and the scenic north-east.
At the Ipsos end of the east coast
Pyrgi is closely connected with the Ipsos area, so check where an accommodation address sits relative to the waterfront and the road north. The beach-resort experience and the route towards the north-east coast can be useful together, but they do not make every property equally convenient on foot.
Choosing between coast and hillside
Ask for the route to the beach, dinner and the nearest useful bus stop, including any climb or road crossing. City Bus 7 reaches the wider corridor, with current service details to confirm for your dates. If nightlife is a priority, check the journey home from your chosen venues; if quiet matters, ask about the immediate surroundings. A northern coastal excursion can add variety, but choose one bay or village rather than treating the whole north-east as a quick round trip.

Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
