Stavros is a traditional hill village in central Corfu, surrounded by olive-covered countryside and walking country above the island's east coast.
Olive country above the east coast
Stavros is a place to appreciate Corfu's inland landscape and village lanes rather than look for a conventional resort centre. Its hill setting makes it a useful contrast to the waterfront around Benitses. The municipality includes Stavros in its countryside selection, but that does not establish the condition or difficulty of any particular walking route.
Choosing a visit or a rural base
For a day out, combine a village stop with a separate coastal meal or swim, leaving time for the winding approach. For a longer stay, ask the host which everyday facilities are close enough to reach on foot and how the final road reaches the property. If walking is the main reason for coming, choose a mapped route in advance and confirm its current condition locally rather than relying on the destination name alone.
Getting around, beaches and evenings
A car is recommended for reaching Stavros and exploring the surrounding hills, with the village itself best discovered on foot.
No beach in the village. Beaches around Benitses and the south-east coast are a short drive away.
Very quiet, with little dedicated nightlife. Benitses and the south-east coast offer more evening dining and bars.

Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
