South East Corfu

Fishing Villages, Beach Resorts & Corfu's Far South

Explore Central Corfu

South East Corfu combines established seaside resorts with fishing villages, traditional settlements and the larger communities of the island's far south.

Benitses is one of the most established coastal destinations in this part of Corfu. Once strongly associated with fishing, it developed into a popular resort while retaining a marina and strong food-and-drink scene.

Further south, Moraitika and Messonghi provide established holiday bases, while smaller coastal locations such as Boukari and Petriti offer a quieter atmosphere connected closely with the sea. Petriti remains one of the coastal harbours highlighted by Corfu's official tourism organisation.

Lefkimmi is one of southern Corfu's main towns and provides shops, services and ferry connections, while Kavos at the far south offers a very different experience with beaches, tourism and nightlife. The wider south also contains important natural areas, including Arkoudilas and the Alykes around Lefkimmi.

South East Corfu therefore suits a broad range of visitors, from families and couples looking for beach holidays to independent travellers wanting to explore fishing villages and the less-visited southern part of the island.
