About
Gardiki is one of the island’s important medieval defensive sites and forms part of a wider network of Byzantine-era castles. Its rural setting makes it easy to combine with Lake Korission and the south-west beaches.
This thirteenth-century fortress formed part of Corfu's medieval defensive network, complementing strongholds such as Angelokastro and Kassiopi. Its relatively undeveloped setting makes it feel very different from the major fortresses in Corfu Town.
