Kalafationes is a traditional village in Corfu's central hills, well placed as an inland stop when travelling between Corfu Town and the west of the island.
A quieter part of central Corfu
Kalafationes suits a pause while exploring the inland roads between Corfu Town and the west coast. The experience centres on a traditional village and olive-covered surroundings rather than a collection of large visitor attractions. Give the centre some time on foot, and be considerate around houses and working village streets.
Building a practical day out
Choose one west-coast beach, such as Glyfada or Agios Gordios, as a separate part of the itinerary. Staying inland offers a different setting, but it also means checking how you will reach dinner, shops and the shore. Ask about the precise property location and parking rather than assuming that a central-island address makes every journey quick. If you prefer to leave the car parked all holiday, compare the daily travel involved with a coastal base.
Getting around, beaches and evenings
A car is useful for exploring Kalafationes and neighbouring inland villages, while the village centre can be explored on foot.
No beach in the village. Agios Gordios and Glyfada are convenient west-coast beach options.
Quiet and village-focused. Agios Gordios and Corfu Town provide the nearest wider choice of bars and evening venues.

Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
