About Kassiopi

On this page: At a glance   ·   Beaches   ·   Things to do   ·   Food & drink   ·   Where to stay   ·   Planning your stay

Kassiopi has the feel of a small town as well as a holiday resort, centred on a picturesque harbour with restaurants, cafés, shops and boats. Above the harbour, the remains of Kassiopi Castle add an important historic dimension.

Several small beaches and coves lie around the headland, and the town is well placed for exploring Avlaki, Kerasia and the rest of the north-east coast.

Harbour life, the castle and nearby coves

Kassiopi can support a varied day without trying to cover a large area: explore around the harbour, investigate current castle access and choose a nearby beach or cove. The historic town and lively waterfront complement each other, but accommodation positions differ. A harbour-facing stay and a property farther from evening venues can offer different experiences.

Choosing your evenings and excursions

Check neighbouring bars and restaurants with the host if noise matters, rather than assuming the whole town is either quiet or lively. For a boat outing, confirm the operator, meeting point, weather arrangements and return. The north-east bays make worthwhile separate trips, but the exact road or walking route matters more than their closeness on a map. Green Bus A4 is the town connection to check, including the departure stop and last return for your dates.

What are the beaches like?

Explore the individual guides to Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.

Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?

Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.

Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?

Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.

What can I explore nearby?

Read our guides to Avlaki and Kerasia. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
