Kouloura
An Iconic Small Harbour on the North East Coast
About Kouloura
On this page: At a glance · Beaches · Things to do · Food & drink · Where to stay
Kouloura is a tiny harbour settlement rather than a full resort, recognised for its curved harbour and exceptionally photogenic coastal setting. The sense of scale and traditional waterfront character are its main appeal.
It is close to Kalami and can be combined easily with other north-east coast stops, particularly for visitors exploring by boat or car.
A harbour-sized visit
Kouloura's distinctive harbour and waterfront outlook make it a place for a considered short stop rather than a large resort itinerary. The attraction lies in the small scale: spend time by the harbour, enjoy the view and investigate a meal if your chosen venue is open.
Combining nearby places thoughtfully
Kalami offers a separate bay visit, but check the actual connection rather than assuming a short distance guarantees a convenient walking route. If booking accommodation around Kouloura, establish how you will reach food shopping, dinner and your preferred beach. The harbour setting does not by itself establish public mooring, boat hire or transfer availability. Confirm any boating arrangement with the operator and avoid treating working or private waterfront space as unrestricted visitor access.

Things to do
Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
