About Old Perithia

Old Perithia is a historic stone village on the slopes beneath Mount Pantokrator. Its restored and weathered houses, lanes and tavernas create one of the island's most distinctive heritage settings.
Many visitors combine time in the village with walking or a drive through northern Corfu. It is very different from the coastal resorts and is especially appealing to anyone interested in architecture, history and traditional landscapes.
Historic buildings with a living visitor economy
Old Perithia's stone buildings and mountain setting invite a slower visit on foot. It is often described through its past, but it should not be presented simply as an abandoned ghost village: heritage restoration and tavernas form part of the visitor experience. Leave time to look at the buildings as well as stop for a meal when venues are open.
Distinguishing the mountain village
Old Perithia and New Perithia are different destinations. Check the actual address and route, especially when arranging a transfer or following a bus listing that says only Perithia. A visit to the mountain village can be paired with one northern outing, but allow for the approach rather than treating it as a quick coastal detour. Confirm current taverna and site access arrangements before relying on them for the whole day.

Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
