Afionas
Hilltop Views, Traditional Streets & Porto Timoni
ABOUT
Afionas is part of North West Corfu. A traditional hilltop village known for spectacular coastal views, attractive streets, restaurants and access towards Porto Timoni.
Afionas is set above the coast rather than directly on the beach, with narrow lanes, traditional buildings and far-reaching sea views. It is also the usual starting point for the walk towards Porto Timoni, one of the most photographed coastal landscapes in this part of Corfu.
It works particularly well as a day trip from Arillas, Agios Georgios Pagon or Agios Stefanos, and is especially rewarding around late afternoon and sunset. It is particularly well suited to visitors interested in traditional villages, scenic views, walking, sunsets and photography.
Getting there and practical information
The historic centre is best explored on foot because cars do not enter the old village. Drivers can use parking near the village entrance or approach road, while the A6 bus connection is limited enough that a car or taxi is often more convenient for a day visit.
