Avliotes
Traditional Village Life above the North West Coast
About Avliotes

Avliotes is an inland village above the north-west coast and feels very different from the nearby beach resorts. Traditional streets, local homes and village life are the main attraction rather than conventional tourist facilities.
Its proximity to Agios Stefanos makes it easy to combine a village visit with a coastal stay, and the surrounding roads and countryside also suit walkers and independent explorers.
A village counterpart to the north-west coast
Avliotes offers a traditional village setting near Agios Stefanos Avliotes. It is useful to separate the two when planning a stay: one is an inland community and the other is the beach resort. A village stop can give a different perspective from a day spent entirely along the shore.
Choosing the right base
Look at where the accommodation sits in relation to the village centre, beach and approach roads. If you want to walk to swimming every morning, ask about the complete route and return rather than relying on a short map distance. Green Bus A8 is the named connection to investigate for Avliotes. For a day out, combine the village with one coastal visit and leave time for the slower pace of the lanes rather than trying to cover the whole north-west.

Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
