Pelekas
Traditional Village Streets, Sunsets & Kaiser's Throne
About Pelekas

Pelekas is a traditional hillside village with narrow streets, local restaurants and elevated views across central and western Corfu. Kaiser's Throne is the best-known viewpoint and is particularly popular around sunset.
The village also works as a base for reaching Glyfada, Kontogialos and other west-coast beaches, combining inland character with easy coastal access.
Village lanes and a viewpoint visit
Pelekas offers a hill-village experience with Kaiser’s Throne as a distinct viewpoint to investigate. Give the village itself time for a meal or a look around rather than arriving only for a photograph. Check current viewpoint access and the practical return if planning the visit around sunset.
Choosing between hill and shore
Kontogialos and Glyfada are separate coastal destinations below or near the village. A Pelekas accommodation label does not establish that the beach is an easy walk from the entrance. Ask about the complete route, parking and any climb back. City Bus 11 is the village connection to investigate, with coastal transfers checked independently. A day works best when you choose either a fuller village visit or a planned combination with one beach, leaving time for the winding approach.

Where to stay
Planning your
Kassiopi stay
Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.
What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.
Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.
Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.
What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
