New Perithia

A Northern Village between Coast and Mountain

About New Perithia

On this page: At a glance   ·   Beaches   ·   Things to do   ·   Food & drink   ·   Where to stay

New Perithia is a lived-in northern village in the wider Perithia area, positioned between the coast and the mountain landscape. It provides a useful base for exploring both the north-eastern beaches and inland attractions.

Old Perithia and the Mount Pantokrator area are natural nearby destinations, while the coast around Almyros and Acharavi is also accessible.

The lower village, not the historic mountain site

New Perithia should be distinguished from Old Perithia when planning a visit or booking accommodation. The historic stone settlement beneath Pantokrator is a separate destination. Check which place a map pin, bus stop or property description means before organising the day.

A practical northern itinerary

A stay here can be considered alongside trips to the north coast and surrounding countryside, but choose based on the actual address and everyday journeys. Ask about the nearest shops, evening meals and route to the shore. If the aim is to visit Old Perithia, plan the onward transfer and return independently; a route listing to Perithia does not establish a service to the mountain village. For a short stop, keep expectations focused on the present-day village rather than the landmarks of its historic namesake.

Planning your
Kassiopi stay

Do I need a car?
A car is not essential for exploring locally, but can be useful for trips farther afield. Check your accommodation’s position and the route to the centre before deciding.

What are the beaches like?
Our individual guides cover Kalamionas, Bataria, Pipitos, Imerolia and Kanoni. Several are compact pebble coves; each has its own access and facilities.

Is Kassiopi quiet in the evenings?
Harbour-front dining, cocktails and music bars contribute to its sociable atmosphere. Check neighbouring venues with your host if quiet evenings matter.

Can I reach Kassiopi by bus?
Check Green Bus A4 and the operator’s current timetable for your dates, exact stop, last return and final route to your accommodation.

What can I explore nearby?
Avlaki and Kerasia have their own destination guides. Check the actual road or walking route before setting out; closeness on a map does not establish an easy walk.
